I have a ruffle.

Could I have had a normal cuff? Sure. Could I have quietly ended at the ankle like a sensible sock?

Also sure.

But then who would have brought the drama?

I’m dark pink with a lighter pink bow-and-grid design, finished with a green heel, toe, and fold-over cuff topped with a completely unnecessary little ruffle.

Unnecessary things are often the best things.

I was made for holiday parties, gift exchanges, sitting cross-legged on the floor surrounded by wrapping paper, and pretending you’re only having one more glass of wine while someone starts passing around cookies.

I am festive without being precious.

Cheerful without behaving myself.

And yes, the cuff folds over.

And yes, there is a ruffle.
